Our team pulls from different evidence-based approaches
We use an integrative approach, drawing from various therapeutic methods to support your unique needs. While each therapist has their own training, not including all areas of care, they bring their skills and knowledge to create a personalized and holistic experience for you.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy technique designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. It involves guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation (such as tapping or sounds) while the person recalls distressing memories. This process is believed to help reprocess the memory, reducing emotional charge and allowing the individual to gain new insights and healthier responses to the trauma. EMDR is commonly used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.
EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) is a therapy that focuses on helping individuals and couples identify, understand, and manage their emotions to improve relationships. It aims to create secure emotional bonds between partners by exploring and expressing feelings, improving communication, and resolving conflicts. EFT is based on attachment theory and works to help clients develop healthier emotional responses and stronger connections.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-focused therapy designed to help individuals process trauma by focusing on physical sensations in the body. The approach is based on the idea that trauma is stored in the body and can be released through awareness of bodily sensations, rather than just talking about the traumatic event. The therapist guides the person to notice physical responses, like tension or discomfort, and encourages gentle movement or relaxation to release stored trauma. SE aims to restore balance to the nervous system and promote healing by helping the body "complete" the fight-or-flight responses that were interrupted during the trauma.
Mindful therapy integrates mindfulness practices into traditional therapeutic approaches, helping individuals become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations in the present moment. It encourages non-judgmental acceptance of experiences and promotes self-awareness, emotional regulation, and stress reduction. The goal is to help individuals develop a greater sense of clarity, focus, and calm, improving mental well-being and resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and healing the different "parts" of a person's psyche. IFS is based on the idea that our minds are made up of various sub-personalities, or "parts," each with its own beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. These parts can include wounded inner children, protective parts, or critical voices. The goal of IFS is to help individuals develop a compassionate relationship with all their parts, especially the wounded ones, so they can achieve greater internal harmony and healing. A key concept in IFS is the "Self," which is the calm, compassionate core of a person that can help guide the parts toward healing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and by changing negative or unhelpful thoughts, we can improve our emotions and actions. CBT is goal-oriented and typically involves learning skills to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other issues by challenging distorted thinking and replacing it with more balanced, realistic thoughts. It is often used in a structured, time-limited way.
Inner Child Therapy is a type of therapy that helps heal emotional pain from childhood. It focuses on the "inner child," which represents the feelings and experiences you had as a child. Often, past hurts or unmet needs can affect how you feel and act as an adult. In this therapy, you work with a therapist to reconnect with your inner child, understand past hurts, and heal those wounds. The goal is to release old emotional baggage and improve your emotional health as an adult.
Psychodynamic therapy is a form of talk therapy that focuses on exploring how unconscious thoughts and past experiences influence current behavior and emotions. It aims to help individuals gain insight into their inner conflicts, unresolved issues, and patterns of behavior that may be affecting their mental health. By understanding these underlying factors, individuals can work toward personal growth and emotional healing.
Narrative therapy helps people change the way they see their life stories. It encourages them to look at problems as separate from themselves and find new meanings or solutions. By changing their story, they can create a more positive and empowering view of their life.
Flash therapy is a rapid, intensive form of psychotherapy aimed at quickly addressing trauma or emotional distress. It typically involves brief, focused sessions designed to help individuals process and release overwhelming feelings or memories in a short period of time. The goal is to bring about immediate relief, often through techniques that bypass traditional, longer therapeutic approaches.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is a form of therapy that focuses on helping individuals accept their thoughts and feelings rather than trying to control or avoid them. It encourages living in the present moment, identifying personal values, and committing to actions that align with those values, even in the face of difficult emotions or challenges. The goal is to increase psychological flexibility and improve overall well-being.
Self-compassion therapy helps people be kinder to themselves, especially when they make mistakes or face challenges. It teaches them to treat themselves with the same care and understanding they would offer a friend, rather than being harsh or critical. The therapy helps reduce negative self-talk and encourages a more supportive, loving approach to personal struggles.
Gottman therapy helps couples improve their relationship by teaching them better communication and conflict-resolution skills. It focuses on building trust, understanding each other, and creating a stronger emotional connection. The goal is to help couples work through challenges and strengthen their bond.
